When do the 2013 FMR's go into effect? As soon as they are approved or beginning Jan 2013?

Thank you for posting in HUD USER's Housing forum. The Fair Market Rents webpage, http://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/fmr.html, has a link to 2013 Federal Register Preamble, which explains the timing of FMR releases and effective dates. Proposed fair market rents become effective on the date of their publication in the Federal Register.

Normally, FMR's become effective every October 1.
